We at the Web Series World Cup (WSWC) are thrilled to announce that in 2023, for our ninth edition, we will have as our official partner Pomelo Mobile, an OTT service dedicated to the celebration and promotion of short-form content.
Pomelo Mobile is an innovative platform specializing in short-form content and web series, and will be licensed as the official distribution channel of the WSWC in Latin America. The website architecture is divided into various sections, containing a large catalogue of high quality audio-visual content, a space for streaming festivals, and a ‘crowdfunding’ space for donating to content creators, allowing users to validate the value of this content in both B2B and B2C sectors.
This year, all programs entering the WSWC ranking top 50 will have an opportunity to be distributed on Pomelo Mobile. This exciting opportunity allows us to further our mission of uplifting and celebrating indie web series content creators and finding new ways to promote them to audiences worldwide. Creators will be able to expand their international audience along all the other benefits the platform offers. This is an incredible added benefit to being part of the WSWC in 2023.
We support Pomelo and our shared visions as we strongly believe that the future of indie productions and short form distribution lies in finding unique and innovative alternatives for distribution and career building within a highly competitive market. This partnership affords us at the WSWC the ability to bring new and exciting growth opportunities to creators all over the world.
